Be Part of the Solution

Preserving Biodiversity in the Eastern Arc Mountains rain forest is the primary goal of this project. Additionally, key issues to be addressed are reversing the serious deforestation around Forest Nature Reserve, a critical need for woods and construction materials, the need for environmental conservation education, and extreme poverty alleviation through agroforestry.

What Trees are we planting

Albizia gummifera

Albizia gummifera is a nitrogen fixing tree that can be used for soil stabilization. It is a good shade tree. It is recommended for alley farming systems, mixed cropping, and for plantation crop plantings with coffee and bananas. Its wood is useful as a general purpose timber and is used to make beehives, mortars, water troughs, and boats.

Newtonia buchananii

Newtonia buchananii is a deciduous tree with a flat-topped crown and wide-spreading branches; it can grow from 10 - 40 metres tall. The tree is valued for its wood and so is commonly harvested from the wild, mainly for local use. The tree is also a local source of medicines and is often encouraged, both as a shade tree in plantations and as a soil stabilizer on river banks. A graceful tree, it is grown as an ornamental and, because of the shade it provides, is suitable for avenue planting.

As a sustainable company, we align our every effort to doing good. On top of reducing plastic pollution with each aluminium The Powder Shampoo bottle, we partnered with Tree Nation to further our positive impact via a tree-planting initiative. After each The Powder Shampoo purchase, you will receive a link to learn more about the species of tree you planted and why it is needed.

Trees are key pillars of the world for both humans and the environment. They benefit us by purifying water, air and creating better social conditions.

Being inspired by the healing powers of flora and fauna, it saddens us to see massive deforestation happening. A reduction in the number of trees causes the imbalance of CO2 and oxygen; leading to more CO2 being trapped in the ozone layer, and therefore trapping heat, causing rising temperatures all around the world.Together with you and Tree Nation, we can do our part to offset climate change, and protect Mother Earth.
